Dealing with Analysis Paralysis When Building Your CT Home

Dealing-with-analysis-paralysis-when-building-your-CT-home.jpgIf you’ve never built a custom home in Connecticut before, you’ll quickly discover that there are a lot of details to consider. There are many great websites (such as houzz.com and bhg.com) packed with ideas for your new home. One problem a lot of first-time homeowners run into, however, is what to do with all the information.

We all love having choices, but when you begin sorting through all the options you have for building a new home, it can get a bit overwhelming. Trying to keep all the details and choices straight—and then make the decision that’s right for you—can lead to a severe case of “analysis paralysis.”

Part of the problem is that while a lot of the homebuilding and design sites you visit have great ideas, they tend to focus on individual rooms (rather than the big picture). And very often there’s no budget information. That makes it easy to fall in love with an idea or a design without having any idea as to whether or not you can actually afford it.

By the way, we think it’s great to check out online sites and gather ideas. But when it comes time to narrow things down and make a decision about what will work best for you, it’s nice to have someone who can talk you through the process and help you avoid analysis paralysis.

Here’s one way to do that. Take a few minutes for a no-obligation conversation with a Sunwood Development expert home advisor. In a short (10-minute) phone consultation, you can get the scoop on new design trends. You can find out what other people in your situation are doing. You’ll even end up with a budget range that lets you know if what you have in mind is realistic. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions and voice concerns you have about the building process.

At the end of the call, we’ll give you suggestions for the best way to move forward—even if Sunwood isn’t the best fit for you.

Don’t let the fact that you’ve gathered lots of information keep you from moving forward toward the home of your dreams. We’ll be happy to help you sort out the details and free you from analysis paralysis!
